Labette Health receives honor for specialty care

Updated:

Labette Health in Parsons is honored for its quality of specialty care and cost effectiveness and efficiency in delivering that care.

The certificates of distinction given by Blue Cross Blue Shield are for its results in total knee and hip replacements.  Labette Health will be labeled a Blue Distinction Center.

Hospital staff says it's nice to be recognized for a job well done.

"It's very rewarding to see that your hard work and your effort to provide exceptional rather than 'ok' care to patients does get rewarded like it did today," says Labette Health orthopedic surgeon Brand Meister.

Labette Health also received the distinction in 2010.
