Labette County receives $20,000 to reduce underage drinking

Updated:

Labette County received $20,000 to reduce underage drinking.  The award was presented Monday to the Labette County Substance Abuse Task Force and area law enforcement.

Those involved say they hope this will make a big difference.

"I just hope that we can change that mindset about the use of alcohol and drugs in general throughout the youth in our community," says Parsons Police Chief Scott Gofourth.

The money will allow for 18 more patrols in Parsons to focus on underage drinking.
