Electronic waste collection held at Pittsburg State

Updated:

A Pittsburg State social work student held an electronic waste collection day on Thursday in the university oval.

PSU senior Justin Gambill collected items ranging from laptop computers to cell phones.

Gambill decided to put the event together because he says he saw a need to show students and staff the benefits of recycling and why it's so important.

"A lot of people don't know what to do with it and we wanted to give people a chance to bring their item," says Gambill.

He also accepted monetary donations to help out the SEK Recycling Center and offered information about local recycling services, including what's available on the campus.
