PBS station to air documentary about Baxter Springs mining history

Four Staters will soon have a chance to see a piece of Baxter Springs, Kansas history on television.  It'll be about the city's mining history.

Paul Wannenmacher is organizing the project.

Miners from back in the day, relatives of past residents, and historians are all being interviewed.

"It's not just a remembrance for the people who lived through the time, but it's also an expression to the younger generation as to how their parents and grandparents lived," says Wannenmacher.

Wannenmacher's film is set to soon debut on Ozark's Public Television.
