Students in the Pittsburg school district helped clean up their city on Wednesday by doing a little community service.
They participated in a city-wide clean-up day by picking up trash.
It's part of the Pittsburg Beautiful litter campaign.
All 2,500 kids in the district were assigned sections of the city. Then they cleaned up litter from right-of-way areas.
"We organized so every street in town will be walked and covered, trash will be picked up and all brought here," says Pittsburg Schools Superintendent Destry Brown.
Pittsburg city commissioners approved Operation Clean Sweep in November.
It's a broad plan to help beautify the city.
