Name released of Fort Scott man killed in plane crash

Updated:

A Fort Scott man killed in a weekend plane crash has been identified as Dwayne Davis, 40.  That's according to the Barton County coroner.

A National Transportation Safety Board spokesperson says a preliminary report of their investigation should be done in about a week; and, it could take six months before the official investigation is complete.

Authorities say the crash happened shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday after the plane had just taken off from the Lamar Municipal Airport for a training flight.

Authorities say Davis was practicing crop dusting.
