Thomas Jefferson Day School wins Missouri State Scholar Bowl

A group of 10 local high school students win the Missouri State Scholar Bowl Championship in the Class 1-A.

The team from Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School competed against Pilot Grove High School and won with 710 points out of a possible 900.

Students are asked questions about everything from math and science to literature and writing.

In the last 11 years the school has won 3rd place once, 2nd place three times, and 1st place seven times.

This years team included Justin Brown, Chris Saladin, Thomas Richins, Matthew Eads, Austin Burns, Clayton Woolery, Sanjay Jenkins, Joe Hedcorth, Noah Wells and Noah Dickinson.

Their coach, Nate Kinast, says he is sad that six of the teammates will be graduating but that he is very proud of them all.
