MSSU helps graduates find jobs

Updated:

Graduation is quickly approaching and that means crunch time for college grads finding a job, if they haven't already.

Many colleges and universities across the nation do their part to help, far beyond simply handing over a diploma, including Missouri Southern.

MSSU Career Services Director Nicole Brown says they have seen a 50% increase of students utilizing it's services in the last two years.  They estimate that a majority of the class graduating this coming weekend has secured a job.

"We see a lot of entry level positions open and that seems to be a trend reading national publications - employers sometimes are cutting higher paying positions but they are still hiring those entry level positions," says Brown.  "So for college students they are actually in a pretty good position because they are not that higher in they are not a lot of the times have been cut out of the market."

Brown estimates 60% of students find either a full time or part time job through the "Hire a Lion" job network offered to students and alumni.
