No injuries in fire east of Pittsburg

News release from the Crawford County Sheriff's Office

On 05-06-2013 at approximately 2140 hours, deputiesresponded to 2304 E. 4th St. in Pittsburg, KS.  When deputies arrived on scene Pittsburg Firewas already there fighting the fire that was located in the living roomarea. 

The house is owned by William Forest of Scammon, KS. andrented by  Zac Sprenkle and JessicaSmith.  The renters left the house for awhile and when they returned the  homewas on fire.  The structure receivedextensive damage.

Baker Fire,Pittsburg Fire, Pittsburg Police, and the Crawford County Sheriff's Office allresponded to the fire.  No one wasinjured as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time andremains under investigation.

    Carl Junction Fire Dept. worked a structure fire around 3:30 am this morning at 107 Kelly Lane. One person was at the home at the time of the fire. They were able to escape the home safely. The fire started in the garage or attic and the fire marshal is investigating. The house is a total loss.More >>
