M.S.S.U. Graduate Proposes Across Stage


Missouri Southern State University students donned their hats and gowns for the 2013 commencement ceremony.

Students anxiously waited before their names were read and walking across the stage.

Ceremonies were held for the School of Arts and Sciences, Technology, Business Administration and Education. There were 713 degrees, including 104 graduating with honors and 12 with their masters.

Joplin Mayor and M.S.S.U. graduate Melodee Colbert-Kean and was the feature speaker.

Michael Ori graduated with a sociology and psychology degree and while walking across the stage he popped the question.

"Well when they called my name I pulled a couple of signs out from under my robe that said Emily and I would throw it down, will you marry me?" says Ori.

Ori proposed to his girl friend Emily Bultmann.Once he found her after the ceremony he got down on one knee and asked her again...

She said yes.
