Posted: Updated:

The pilot of a plane crop dusting in Cherokee County, Kansas walks away from a crash near the Jayhawk Plant, north of Riverton.

Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves says the pilot walked out of the plane after it crashed to find the land owners and call emergency crews.  Dispatch received the call at 10:48 a.m.

The sheriff's office says the plane was carrying a fungicide, but there is no danger following the crash.

The sheriff's office has identified the owner and pilot of the plane as John Kellogg, 48 of Cherokee County, saying he suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Sheriff Groves says the FAA is expected to investigate the site of the crash on Wednesday.
