FreeWheel Inc held its first Pre-Ride and Rolling Press conference in Miami, Oklahoma on Friday.
A small group of FreeWheel staff and volunteers will cycle across the state to promote and strengthen cycling tourism in Oklahoma.
The pre-rides are to build relationships with communities and businesses that will be part of this year's tour, which will be held June 9th through the 15th.
Officials say one of the enjoyments of riding a bike is experiencing your surroundings.
"You see so much more riding a bike than you do down the Interstate 75 miles per an hour," says Ross Snider of FreeWheel. "You see a lot of details along the road. You see horses and you see things on the road."
Officials on the pre-ride will also be scouting out the route for their riders.
