Joplin Police Department is now on Facebook

Updated:

News release from the Joplin Police Department:

The Joplin Police Department is pleased to announce that we now have a Facebook page.  The Joplin Police Department has been committed to being actively involved with our community and this will be one more way that we can connect with the citizens and visitors of Joplin.

Our goals with having a presence on Facebook are to:

· Increase public awareness of the agency's policing/public safety efforts,
· Build transparency and humanize the agency through information sharing and open dialogue,
· Encourage citizen involvement in our effort to reduce criminal activity, and
· Improve police services through collaboration and communication with citizens and community groups

We look forward to further engaging our community with this new platform.
