Remembering Lantz Hare

161 lives were lost during the Joplin tornado.  One family today honored their son, 16-year-old, Lantz Hare, who lost his life at 20th and Wisconsin.

Lantz was in his mother's vehicle at the Dillon's grocery store parking lot when he was taken by the tornado.

Friends and family gathered at his memorial bench to release balloons on the two year anniversary and to look back on his life and legacy as a BMXer.

Hare's mother says until something is rebuilt on the site, it will be Lantz' place.

Though it's been two years, Hare's mother says his memory continues to live on through the smiles on his friends' faces and the foundation set up in his name: http://www.lantzharefoundation.org/
