People attending the Cunningham Park event this evening have a chance to sign a Banner of Hope for the victims in Moore, Oklahoma. It's a 20-foot-long banner with the words "Miracle of the Human Spirit".
That is the same message the city of Joplin adopted as it's mantra the past few years as Joplin continues to rebuild from its own deadly tornado two years ago.
"Stay strong, there is a light at the end of the tunnel," says Joplin tornado survivor Kaitlin Darnaby. "It doesn't seem that way now but there definitely is. There is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel."
City officials encourage anyone to come and sign and/or leave a message of hope for the people of Moore.
