Help Moore through Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore

News release from Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity

The Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity ReStorewill be working to assist in the rebuilding efforts of Moore, Oklahoma, bydonating all gross sales from the week of June 4th to June 8th.  Our community has been through so much andcome so far since the May 22nd tornado, and our hearts go out toeverything Moore, Oklahoma is experiencing. Joplin Habitat looks to assist this community by starting with thisdonation.

Alongwith our mission to partner with families in need to build safe, affordable homes,our ReStore has done tremendous work serving the community.

The JoplinArea Habitat for Humanity ReStore is located at 315 S. Blackcat Road in Joplin. The mission of the ReStore is to provide additional funding to supportour house building goals, expand opportunities to serve a broader base of thecommunity by providing low cost materials, and to divert construction andhousehold materials from landfills and protect the environment.

ReStoresaccept donations of construction materials, appliances, home furnishings, andmuch more.  The ReStore offers the uniqueopportunity to give, resell, and recycle.

Please donate to this effort by giving andshopping at our ReStore.  Our hours ofoperation are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 to 4:00.  We also pick up donations as well so pleasecall 417-782-7467 to learn how you can become involved in this effort.

    April 23, 2018: A Fox affiliate in Tulsa, Fox 23, is reporting that one person is in custody related to the disappearance of Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible. KOAM and FOX 14 will Facebook live stream a media conference that could bring new information about a 1999 cold case out of Welch, Oklahoma.     Joplin Police received a call about an armed robbery on Sunday just before 10:00 p.m. (April 22, 2018). An employee at Charlie's Chicken (2020E. 32nd Street) says she locked the business up and was walking to her vehicle when a male walked up to her in the parking lot. She said he pointed a handgun at her and demanded the night deposit bag. She gave the suspect the bag and says he ran to the southwest. Police officers could not find him.
