Work on Highway 69 will help reserve service life of bridges

Updated:

Road work began Tuesday on two bridges on the Crawford-Bourbon county line.

The bridges are on U.S. Highway 69 and consist of four lanes, but are now reduced to two.

Work is being done to preserve the service life of the bridges.

The Kansas Department of Transportation says crews will be resetting the bridge rocker bearings and replacing expansion joints.

The project should be complete by July.
