Autopsy shows Edna Lake death an accidental drowning

Updated July 10, 2013:  Authorities have ruled a Memorial Day weekend death as an accidental drowning.

Labette County Sheriff Robert Sims says they received the autopsy results today in the death of Jennifer Stotts.  Stotts was found in a pond several feet from the bank of Edna Lake on May 28.

Sheriff Sims says the autopsy report indicates Stotts died from accidental drowning.

 

Reported May 29, 2013:  Authorities in Labette County are investigating a body found in the area of Edna Lake.

Sheriff Robert Sims says Jennifer Stotts had been at the lake during the holiday weekend.

Officers discovered her body Tuesday morning in a pond several feet from the bank of Edna Lake.

Sheriff Sims confirmed early Wednesday evening that while they are investigating, foul play is not suspected at this time.
