Route 66 Swap Meet

Car fanatics meet in Joplin for the 13th annual Route 66 swap meet and car show.

The rain didn't stop them from enjoying to day at Landreth Park. Venders selling and trading everything from golf carts to miniature cars to car parts. At least 80% of each booth has to be automotive related. A car show will also benefit the Joplin area Habitat for Humanity.

Event organizer Chris Johnson says people love coming to Joplin because it's the heart of Route 66.

"They like coming here, they like Joplin it's a good central location now since we've moved here to the park, they really loved the park all the amenities and the shade trees nice ground and it's a beautiful park" says Johnson.

The group hopes to host the swap meet and show in October and plans on having it again next June.
