Cuttaway Salon Reopens

A Joplin salon moves locations and it's new spot features a storm shelter.

The Cuttaway opened originally in 1984 and offers everything from pedicures and manicures to highlights and cuts.

The nine stylists were working after the tornado at 31st and main street, but moved out of the house three weeks ago to their reconstructed salon.

Owner Sonja Harper says the new location is modern and has a lot to offer to it's clients.

"We have a storm shelter a large one, we went through the last tornado and so we have it here for our customers" says Harper.

Trace Hawk was the contractor that built the new business within two months.

     Jennifer Johnson owns CheeZies Pizza in Joplin, and likely won't be voting for the gas tax increase. "We're probably going to have to raise our delivery rates. And our deliveries may suffer because of that" If passed, gasoline tax would go up two and a half cents a year for four years, totaling an increase of 10 cents per gallon. So by 2022, you'd be paying 27 cents of tax per gallon. Representative Bill White says Missouri has the seventh greatest amount of paved road...
