Ground is broken on a new independent community. The new independent living units will be located in Foxberry Terrace on Saint Louis Avenue in Webb City.
It's run by Americare and the company will be build four new duplexes and two new triplexes.
Officials say this will help solve a housing need for area seniors.
"Since the tornado there has been a housing shortage for the elderly and this is a great way to let them have the Americare experience and enjoy our hospitality also," says administrator Stephanie Miller.
Construction will take about a year and you can stop by any time to tour and look at the building plans.
Officials say the plan is to build even more duplexes and triplexes at a later date.
A Montgomery County, KS man has died after a crash in Coffeyville. According to police, the crash happened at 11th and Buckeye streets on Saturday evening (March 17). Authorities say 50-year-old Richard Moore was driving a motorcycle when he hit a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old traveling north on Buckeye. Police say Moore was not wearing a helmet.
