Hungry Hands Needs Help

Updated:

A local organization is asking for your help to feed the hungry as demand increases over the summer months.

The Helping Hands Ministry in Carl Junction is a group of churches that strive to feed the hungry and provide food and clothing. Today at Ozark Hearth & Home, organizers held a food drive to boost the summer supply. Since opening its doors in 2011 before the tornado, helping hands officials say the need for supplies has grown

"Since we've been open, we've served over 2800 families, 7500 people and we've extended about 10,000 volunteer hours to do that for that effort" says David Bozung.

Helping Hands Ministry accepts donations throughout the year, but they hope to have more food drives by the end of summer to prepare for the holidays.
