It's a day long instructional shooting clinic promoting the use of guns for the right reasons.
38 women signed up to participate and learn first hand the proper ways to store and fire weapons. Seven shooting stations we're set up at the Little Toledo Ranch. Women stop at each station a number of times to shoot rounds.
The event is led by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Organizers say the event can change the stereotypes about guns.
"We want it to walk away from and here and go home if its at the workplace or business their involved in that they can have a firearm there it can be used in a safe manner and can be used to protect themselves family or other" says Conservation Officer Jim Bussone.
Women were also able to bring their guns from home to shoot.
