U.S. Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas was in Pittsburg on Monday. Among his stops, Via Christi Health, where he looked at the construction happening on the new surgery center.
He also spoke with staff and administration about challenges hospitals face.
"Healthcare regulations continue to drive up the cost," says Senator Moran. "We need to make sure we don't create non-sensical, lack of common sense regulations, that just serve no purpose and ultimately cost this hospital a lot of money to try to comply with."
Moran also took part in a ribbon cutting at Jake's Fireworks. The new facility will serve as the Wholesale Fireworks Company's world headquarters.
