One dead in crash southwest of Parsons


Late Tuesday evening the Labette County Sheriff's Office was called to a two vehicle accident at 19000 and Meade Road,  southwest of Parsons.

Authorities say their investigation shows the 2003 Chevy Impala was traveling eastbound on 19000 Road, while a 1994 Ford truck was northbound on Meade Road, when the two vehicle collided at the intersection.

David Martinez, 25 of Parsons, was a passenger in the Chevy Impala and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others were injured in the crash and taken to Labette Health - the driver of the Impala, Tanya Reasoner, 26 of rural Altamont; the driver of the truck, Logan Whitt, 19 of Parsons; and, a passenger in the truck, Katherine Boehrnsen, 21 of Mound Valley).

Two others were injured but refused treatment.
