Joplin's Independence Day celebrations

Independence Day celebrations are well underway all across the Four States.  Joplin's celebration at Landreth Park began at 3 p.m. with the opening of the food court, which includes everything from funnel cakes to pizza.

Helping to kick off the event, Duke Mason performed the national anthem.  The Jake Clark Band is schedule to perform at 6:30 p.m. and Big Smitty is scheduled to go on at around 8:00 p.m.

Fireworks are expected to start at 9:45 p.m.  The fireworks presentation is produced by Liberty Pyrotechnics this year and is expected to last between 25 and 35 minutes.
