Pittsburg Alcohol Related Accident

Pittsburg police believe alcohol played a role in a crash that damaged a Pittsburg home and sent the driver to the hospital.

Around 12:45AM Sunday morning Jed David Perez, 25, was eastbound on 7th street. His car left roadway at 700 North Water, struck a tree in the yard and spun around hitting the house.

Perez was transported to Via Christi and later flown to K. U. Med Center in Kansas City.

The accident is still under investigation.

    Joplin, MO - A shooting investigation is underway in Newton County. Officers repsponded to a rural area on the southwest side of the city of Joplin around 5 AM. The victim was in a vehicle near the 3500 block of Cherry Road. Authorities say the victim is a 44-year old male and currently in stable condition at Freeman Hospital with two gun shot wounds. Officials say the victim was under the influence of intoxicants or some type of drug and that the incident was most likely a personal conflict....More >>
