Trial date set for Pittsburg woman charged with murdering her husband

Updated July 16, 2013:  A trial date is set for a Pittsburg woman accused of murdering her husband.  Carla Moutz is charged with first degree murder in the death of John Moutz, 49.

In May police were called to a home on the 500 block of West 6th Street, where they found John Moutz suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was taken to Via Christi Hospital, where he later died.

The trial is scheduled for October 7 and may be moved from Girard to Pittsburg because of potential construction at the Crawford County courthouse.

 

Posted July 12, 2013:  A Pittsburg woman charged with murdering her husband is bound over for trial.

Carla Moutz, 51, has been charged with first degree murder in the death of John Moutz, 49.

Officers were called to the Moutz residence on May 9 to a report of a shooting.  John Moutz was transported to Via Christi Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

An arraignment for Carla Moutz is scheduled for Monday morning.

Moutz is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a jury.
