Carthage escapee recaptured - KOAM TV 7

A MAN FACing CHARGES IN BOTH JASPER AND NEWTON COUNTIES IS BACK BEHIND BARS AFTER A BRIEF ESCAPE.

A man facing charges in both Jasper and Newton counties is back behind bars after a brief escape.

Nathaniel C. Norris was in Carthage police custody when he escaped around 5 o'clock Friday. He was found at a home on Baker Street in Carthage four hours later and taken back into custody.

Carthage police say he was arrested on a Newton County warrant but he's wanted on several warrants in Jasper county as well. He's being transferred to the Jasper County jail.

Norris is scheduled for trial  September 13th in Newton County on a charge of first degree statutory sodomy with a person younger than 14.
