U.S. News and World Report recognizes Freeman Health System

Updated:

Freeman Health System has been named the number four hospital in the state and number one in Southwest Missouri.  That's according to the U.S. News and World Report, which also gave Freeman special distinction in seven other areas:  diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, geriatrics, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, and pulmonology.

President and CEO Paula Baker says this honor reflects positively on every Freeman staff member, especially those who work directly with the patients.

"These rankings are really based on our competence in treating very seriously ill patients, so patients who have a very complex case, and in each of the specialty areas they really look at those patient outcomes and how well they did with us," says Baker.

This is the second consecutive year that Freeman Health System has received this ranking.
