Those Oklahomans still looking for help from FEMA after May and June storms will have more time to apply. The deadline was the end of this week but citizens who sustained damage will now have until August 19 to apply, and it doesn't only apply to those uninsured.
Ottawa County Emergency Services Director Joe Dan Morgan suggests residents register if their primary home sustained major damage to see if they can have more help.
"We had one home totally destroyed, we had 11 that I listed as having heavy damage, and it might very well be that any of those under FEMA's requirements," says Morgan.
Morgan also says that help could include reimbursement of insurance deductibles or even help with home loans.
