Joplin man charged with forgery waives preliminary hearing

Updated September 25, 2013:  A Joplin man charged with forgery waived his preliminary hearing in a court appearance on Wednesday.

Authorities say Jaymes Wright attempted to load a number of counterfeit bills onto a Walmart Visa card in April.  He was arrested in July.

Wright's next court appearance is October 7 at 9:00 a.m.

Posted July 19, 2013:  A Joplin man is arrested and charged with forgery for attempting to spend $600 worth of counterfeit money.

On Tuesday authorities arrested Jaymes Wright, 21, after the he attempted to load a number of $100, $20, and $10 bills onto a Walmart Visa card.

The JPD wants you to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills as well.  You should examine bills closely and check for a security strip embedded in the paper.
