Body of 16 year old recovered in Verdigris River

Updated July 26, 2013 at 1:20 PM CST:  The body of a 16 year old believed to have drowned in the Verdigris River has been found.

Montgomery County Sheriff Robert Dierks says in a news release that the body of Steven Whitley, 16, was recovered Friday at about 10:42 a.m. at Brown's Ford Bridge on the river.

Bo Miesner, also 16, was rescued on Wednesday and taken to a hospital.

 

Posted July 25, 2013 at 4:32 PM CST:  Recovery efforts are underway for a missing 16 year old believed to have drowned in the Verdigris River.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says they were called to the river on Wednesday at 7:02 p.m. to a report of two subjects drowning.

Bo Miesner, 16, was rescued and flown by helicopter to a hospital.  His condition is not known at this time.

Still missing is Steven Whittley, who is also 16.
