Recording Artist hopes to preserve and restore Route 66

Many will travel home today from the route 66 international festival but one man will continue along the mother road.

Jess Mcentire, a world wide recording artist began Project Route 66 in 2008 with the sole purpose to preserve and restore Route 66. Mcentire has a his troy on route 66 and promised his parents before they passed he would give something back to the mother road.

He decided to record a cd called "Man on a Mission". The CD features country artist Loretta Lynn, and will go toward placing billboards along Route 66.

"In one of the songs I made the statement if it takes a life time or the shirt off my back to get this accomplished - so when somebody's coming out of Miami they see a sign that says take a trip on Route 66 I made my parents a promise and I'll do it with or without help." Mcentire says.
