PRESS RELEASE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANAS:
Keira Peak dropped in 21 pointsleading the University of Arkansas Razorbacks to a 77-55 win over the ItalianSelect team in Pistoria, Italy, Monday.
The Razorbacks were rusty out ofthe gates and had to adjust to new conditions, including international rules, avery hot gym and the fatigue of travel.
Head coach Tom Collen opened thegame starting his five returners with Calli Berna, Joey Bailey, Melissa Wolff,Jhasmin Bowen and Peak on the floor.
The Italian Select teamcontrolled the game early and jumped out to an eight point lead but Arkansaschipped away until they hit a layup at the buzzer to lead at the half.
The second half was all Arkansasas the Razorbacks pressed and forced 28 turnovers. The Arkansas offensealso heated up shooting 43 percent in the second half.
Peak also had nine rebounds to gowith her 21 points. Freshman McKenzie Adams had 13 points and eightboards, freshman Jessica Jackson had 12 points and sophomore Melissa Wolffadded eight points and seven rebounds in the win.
