MIAA preseason Cross Country polls

The 2013 MIAA CrossCountry Polls find a common thread as both the men's and women's coaches haveselected Southwest Baptist atop the league and Missouri Southern to finishsecond. On the women's side MSSU, who is picked second, was last year'schampion while Fort Hays State, who won the men's championship, is picked thirdoverall.

In the men's poll both SBU and MSSU received four first place votes as theBearcats came in just one points ahead of the Lions. Fort Hays State alsoearned a first place vote and is two points ahead of Nebraska-Kearney who ispicked fourth in the poll. Central Missouri earns the fifth spot on the men'sside coming in four points ahead of sixth pick Northwest Missouri.

Pittsburg State holds the number seven spot while Lindenwood is picked tofinish eighth. Emporia State is picked to finish ninth in the preseason poll.

In the women's poll SBU got five first place votes and came in two points aheadof MSSU who earned four first place votes. Pittsburg State picked up two firstplace votes and earned the third spot. Central Missouri was picked in thefourth spot overall ahead of Northwest Missouri who was picked fifth.

Their was a tie for the sixth place spot as both Nebraska-Kearney and Fort HaysState each racked up 50 points in the poll. Lindenwood earned the eighth spotin the poll while Central Oklahoma comes in eight points behind as the ninthpick. Emporia State sits just two points ahead of LIncoln in the tenth andeleventh spots.

The MIAA Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Pittsburg State onOctober 26 in Pittsburg, Kan.

    The 2018 National Seat Belt Enforcement Mobilization is May 21 - June 3, 2018. In 2016, the use of seat belts in passenger vehicles saved an estimated 14,668 lives of occupants ages 5 and older.     FIRE TRUCK CRASH Authorities say a Columbus, Kansas engine was responding to a fire on the west end of town, when a medical condition caused the driver to lose consciousness behind the wheel.  The fire truck then left the road and hit a tree.  No word yet on what medical condition caused the driver to pass out.  He was last reported to be alert and stable.       LAKE OF THE OZARKS CRASH A boat driver is arrested and is facing charg...More >>
