Carthage antique store reports several items stolen, including three Mickey Mantle baseball cards

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE CARTHAGE POLICE DEPARTMENT:

On 8/15/13 a burglary was reported by an Antique Store in north part of Carthage. The following items have been reported stolen. Please be on the lookout for these items and call the police if you see them. After contacting your local agency please notify Det. Jeff Steffen, Carthage PD.

3 Mickey Mantle Baseball Cards

1 Yogi Berra Card

1966 Marvel Cards

1966 Batman Cards unknown amount taken

Jay Cutler Rookie Cards

Plate with picture of a dog on it. (inside of a red box with German writing on it)

Approx 18" Hulk Figurine autographed by Luke Ferrigno – Unk value

Silver sports watches

    Crews Battle Vehicle Fire On Highway 69

    The Cherokee Township, Weir, and Galena Fire Departments fought a vehicle fire today (May 25) around 7:30 p.m. on Highway 69 near Highway 103. According to authorities a truck was heading south on 69 Highway when the vehicle started smoking. The truck was then completely engulfed by flames. The driver managed to escape the vehicle without any serious injury. Crews had the fire put out by 8:00 p.m. No word yet on what caused the truck to catch on fire.More >>
