Residents Celebrate Arma Days

Current and former residents alike were welcomed back with a weekend homecoming in Arma. Folks from Arma, Kansas celebrated their annual homecoming weekend - including some for the kids.

This fishing derby brought in over 40 kid fisherman, all trying to win that biggest fish title. But none of today's participants went home empty handed - all left with at least one prize.

Organizers of the derby say even though the derby is small...they hope to make an impact.

"the lake is only so big, but it looks like the kids have fun. Even though the more prizes and stuff we get donated the more fun...to me, the more prizes those kids get, the more they'll want to fish," David Robinson, Chairman of Fishing Derby.

But one prize these kids won't be taking home, a snapping turtle. The turtle bit on to the boy's bait, and seemed to not want to go back into the water, but officials came by and set him free again.
