Text service helps students and now adults reach crisis counselors

It used to be, call a hotline for help, but now free crisis counseling comes via text message and its helping local students.

Kids are back to school where some will have to deal with bullying. The answer, the"Talk About It" counselors.  Ozark center has them available 24/7.  

Text messages come in as emails and the response offers advice and often encourages kids to talk to school counselors.

The program is being expanded to the public because of its success with students.
Twenty-two hundred students are registered users of "Talk About It" with more than fifty-five hundred text processed since November.   

"Talk about it" users simply text the word "help" to 8-5-1-3-0 -- but to use talk about it you do have to register online.
