Missouri state auditor releases follow up report on audit of the city of Diamond

Schweich Issues City of Diamond Follow-Up Report

JEFFERSON CITY (Aug. 23, 2013) – State Auditor Tom Schweich today released the follow-up report to his Jan. 2013 audit of the City of Diamond. Here are the findings from Schweich's audit and their current status:

City Sales Tax: Implemented

Tax Exempt Lease: Implemented

Disbursement Approval and Documentation: Implemented

Procurement Procedures: Implemented

Segregation of Duties: Implemented

Receipting and Depositing Procedures: Implemented

Recording Procedures: Partially Implemented

Open Meetings: Implemented

Closed Meetings: Implemented

Schweich is the first state auditor in Missouri to implement a follow-up program. Schweich created the Auditor's Follow-Up Team to Effect Recommendations (AFTER), by which his staff returns to audited entities that received a "poor" or low "fair" on his rating scale.
