The City of Girard, Kansas celebrated the opening of their new Girard Civic Center and Chamber office on Thursday with a ribbing cutting and open house.
The building is located at 102 North Ozark and was given to the city by Charles Roye in July 2010. A number of renovations later, it's complete with a kitchen, main meeting area, and a smaller conference room.
It can host meetings, reunions, showers and more.
"It's a true asset and we are very thankful to the city for making the investment in the community," says Julie Smith, Executive Director for the Girard Area Chamber of Commerce. "We had a civic center before that was just dilapidated and has been condemned and torn down and so there was a hole missing in our community."
The new Civic Center is now available for rental. To do so contact the Girard City Hall.
