Paint the Town in Pittsburg

Updated:

Pittsburg is Painting the Town Red this week and on Thursday judges toured the city to find the most spirited homes and businesses.

The annual community celebration is leading up to the first home football game for the Gorillas this Saturday.

The event is organized by the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce.

Home owners and businesses across Pittsburg enjoy the event saying it really brings the community together.

"It's important because it brings the university and the city of Pittsburg together under one thing to try to show support for the university and what they are doing," says Brian Jones, the owner of Jones Heritage Realtors.

This year's Residential Decorating Contest winners are Joe and Becky Leek.

The winners of the Campus Decorating Contest will be announced Thursday night at a Pitt State pep rally.
