A color run took over Wilderness Park in Southeast Kansas. Pittsburg's park and recreation department hosted the event, featuring runners of all ages.
Volunteers set up throughout the course to paint runners in colors before they crossed the finish line. Proceeds will go towards phase two of a handicap accessible playground at Schlanger Park.
"As I'm running, I think about other ways the community can give back to every individual, because every individual has the right to go out and have a good time no matter what," says runner Laura Covert.
"It's a good opportunity to contribute to something that's good for the community, and the children, and people that are not able to get around," says runner Helen Martin.
Awards were handed out to top finishers. More than 50 runners participated.
