NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY CROWDER COLLEGE
CROWDER BOARD OF TRUSTEES SEEKING CANDIDATE TO FILL VACANCY
NEOSHO, MO - With the retirement of Mr. James B. Tatum from the Crowder College Board of Trustees after more than 50 years of dedicated service to Crowder College, the Board of Trustees will be accepting letters of interest for appointment to fill the seat being vacated by Mr. Tatum’s resignation.
Candidates for the Office of Trustee shall be citizens of the United States, at least 21 years of age, and must be a registered voter of Crowder College Sub-District I, which is comprised of McDonald County, plus the Stella precinct in Newton County, Missouri. The Board of Trustees is requesting that the candidate be able to demonstrate a love for Crowder College and dedication to principles of leadership based on service, caring, and ethical practice, and be able to collaborate with other board members in furthering the Mission, Vision and Values of the institution. Though elected to sub-districts, Crowder College trustees are expected to represent the best interests of the college to the entire Crowder College service region.
In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a commitment to run for re-election as a board member at the next scheduled board election. The new board member will have to stand for election in April, 2015, for the final two years of Mr. Tatum’s term. The board member elected at that time will then stand for re-election in April, 2017, for a six-year term.
All letters of interest should be submitted to Martha Nimmo, Secretary to the Board, Crowder College, 601 Laclede, Neosho, Missouri 64850. All letters of interest will be screened by the Board of Trustees and interviews may follow. The Board requests that all letters be submitted before November 1, 2013.
