NEWS RELEASE FROM THE OFFICE OF CONGRESSWOMAN LYNN JENKINS (KAN.)
Congresswoman Jenkins’ Statement Prior To President Obama’s Remarks On Syria
WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) released the following statement ahead of President Barack Obama’s remarks on Syria tonight:
“After attending a classified briefing regarding Syria on Monday, and meeting with Vice President Biden at the White House this morning, I remain unconvinced that military action against Syria is in our nation’s best interest. It is my hope that tonight President Obama will listen to the American people and lay out a diplomatic option that would prevent America from injecting our nation into the middle of a violent civil war.”
Over the past couple weeks, Jenkins has heard from hundreds of Kansans concerned about the Syria situation, and the vast majority of those who have contacted the Congresswoman strongly oppose military action.
