PSU Athletics to Host Open House & Fall Luncheon on Sept. 18

The Pittsburg State UniversityDepartment of Intercollegiate Athletics will host an "Open House"luncheon on Wednesday,Sept. 18, to showcase the new renovation work to the mezzanine level of JohnLance Arena.

 

The open house will begin at 11:30a.m. with a formal program and lunch beginning at 12 Noon. The event is open tothe public. Head football coach Tim Beck, volleyball coach Ibraheem Suberu andcross country coach Russ Jewett will speak at the luncheon.

 

A box lunch from Sodexo will be providedfor $10. Individuals interested in attending the luncheon need to RSVP LacieAnderson by Sept. 16 by email at landerson@pittstate.eduor by calling (620)235-4389.

 

PSU Athletics will host a Fall,Winter and Spring luncheon during the 2013-14 year with respective "inseason"coaches speaking at each event. These seasonal luncheons replacethe "Gorilla Nation" monthly luncheons that were offered last year.

 

Dates for the Winter and Spring luncheons willbe finalized at a later time.

    Kids at an orphanage in Haiti can now grow their own produce to eat and sell. And it's all thanks to Pitt State's "Enactus" team. Five students researched and worked together with a math and physics student to design a "hydroponics" system. It's a way of growing produce without soil, using PVC pipe and water.
