NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY

PSU students say ‘thank you’ to donors

Major donors to Pittsburg State University will hear the words “thank you” tonight from some of the students who have benefited from their gifts. Personal stories from “Grateful Gorillas” will be part of the program at PSU’s annual Presidents Society Dinner, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Crossland Family University House on the PSU campus.

“The Presidents Society Dinner is an opportunity to honor and thank those individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations that give so generously to support the students and programs of Pittsburg State University,” said Kathleen Flannery, executive director of the Office of Development.

Flannery said more than 270 donors are expected at tonight’s event, which is the largest group in the event’s 22-year history.

“It is important for donors to hear from students directly how their generous gifts have made a difference in the students’ lives,” Flannery said.

The Presidents Society, founded in 1985, assists the president of the university in providing significant private resources for university needs. To achieve active membership in the Presidents Society, annual gifts must be $5,000 or greater.
