United Sugars Corporation Cites Con-way Truckload for Top Performance in 2013 Full-Truckload Carrier Wins Service in Excellence Award for Sixth Consecutive Year

JOPLIN, Mo. — Sept. 19, 2013 — Con-way Truckload, a full-truckload carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced it has won the Service in Excellence Award from United Sugars Corporation for 2013. It’s the sixth consecutive year the company has earned this distinction from North America’s leading marketer of industrial sugar. Con-way Truckload received the honor based on its superior shipping performance, on-time service and reliability.

To qualify for the award, the carrier must have shipped 500 loads of sugar and received no more than five customer complaints within 12 months. Con-way Truckload shipped 528 loads and received one complaint. Con-way Truckload currently ships out of United Sugars’ facilities in Florida, North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. The award was presented at United Sugars’ recent carrier conference in Fargo, N.D

“We’ve been recognizing our carriers with this award for 12 years now and Con-way Truckload continues to prove to us — year over year — that customer service is their top priority,” said Darla Willoughby, transportation manager of administration and carrier development at United Sugars. “It’s a privilege to witness their continued success and we’re pleased to take a moment to recognize them among their peers for their continued excellence meeting our unique service requirements.”

“It takes a team of professionals working together at Con-way Truckload to reach this level of service,” said Saul Gonzalez, president of Con-way Truckload. “This recognition rests solely with this team and is a direct result of their hard work, collaboration and commitment to providing United Sugars with the best service in the industry. We thank them and congratulate them for earning this award once again from United Sugars.”
