Groundbreaking held for new Mulberry, Kansas city hall

Mulberry, Kansas held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for their new municipal center.  The building is on Main Street and will hold City Hall as well as the police department and municipal court.

The city spent the past few years paying off debt so the new building could happen.

"It's going to be very great - very excited," says Mulberry Mayor Randy Jones.  "It's been a very trying time to get this passed through and we made that accomplishment so that's great."

The new building cost around $100,000.  A portion of that comes from Robert Luth, who the new city hall will be named after.

The remaining funds come from city taxes.
