Women's cross country finishes third at 2013 Southern Stampede



The MissouriSouthern women's cross country team finished third amongst non-Division I teamsand fifth overall at the 25th running of the First to the Finish SouthernStampede today at the MSSU Cross Country Course. 

The Lionsscored 98 points as a team finishing just behind Southwest Baptist andPittsburg State in the team standings. Division I University of Tulsa andUniversity of Oklahoma ran a dual between the two schools and the GoldenHuricane had 15 points taking the top five spots between the two schools. 

Individually,the Lions were led by a tenth-place finish from DoraEastin as the junior made her return to the course at MSSU after a two-yearlayoff. She traveresed the 5k course in a time of 17:54.99. AddieMengwasser placed 12th with a time of 18:19.19.

SierraGray placed 20th with a time of 18:40.18, while LizzyKirby and DanaRoberson placed 32nd and 33rd, respectively with times of 18:54.18 and18:55.95. KellyJo Roberts placed 53rd, while JetHovis and KaylaBartlesmeyer placed 57th and 63rd, respectively. 

Southern willbe back in action on October 5, taking part in the Chili Pepper Festival at theUniversity of Arkansas.
